Season Finale - Part 10 : Until we meet again

Erica pulled up front of her home that she shared so many memories with Trevor. This was probably going to be the last time she laid eyes on it or at least for a while. Mixed emotions tore through her as she made her way to the door. On one hand she was happy to be free and not lie to herself anymore, but on the other hand she was sad because she was free and getting ready to experience life in the unknown. Surprised her key still worked she opened the door as quietly as she could but failed when Trevor came around the corner looking depressed. “I forgot you still had the key. It’s no problem...this is still your home as it is mine so you can come back whenever you like” He paused. “Wait what are you doing here? Are you coming back?” “No, I just came to get a few of my things...I’m moving.” “With Amber?” “No, to the city in San Myshuno. Amber has a friend there and he helped me get the place.” “This is really it? I never  thought things would end this way.” “Trevor like I said we both just need some time and then once we kind of been on our own we can talk about a divorce.” He cringed at the word. “Well I won’t stop you. Let me know if you need help….will just be in my office.” Erica wanted to break down in tears and take him back but she knew moving out would be best for both of them. Giving one last look around she headed upstairs to begin to pack.

Trevor shut the office door behind him not knowing how to feel about her leaving. If she was to ever find out about Kane there would be no chance of ever getting back together. Plopping down in his office chair he pulled out his phone and scrolled down his contact list until he reached Kane’s number. Maybe he was the reason for all of this but he was just as much to blame for sleeping with him in the first place. Without thinking he called up Kane waiting to hear his voice. Voicemail. The feeling of being alone was starting to creep up on him. He needed something to fill the void but what?

It had been weeks now and still no word from Bri and nothing from the police. Cassidy tried dialing her number again but hung up knowing she would get the same result. A knock sounded at her door. Not feeling like company she stormed over to the door ready to tell whoever it was off but paused when she saw a man in a suit. “Are you Cassidy    ?” “Yes I am. And you are?” “Detective Boswell with Willow Creek’s police. I understand you reported a missing person a few weeks ago.” “Come in.” Jax stood in the middle of the room not sure where to sit. “Please” She gestured towards the couch. He sat down not ready for the part of telling her bad news. “Did you find anything? Is she ok?” “She’s expired.” Everything around Cassidy went dark as his words sunk in. Her best friend was gone. All of the memories she shared with Bri played in her head like a movie reel. “Ms. Smith”  “ Her took her a moment before she realized he was calling her. “I’m sorry….I was just trying register what you said.” “I know this hard for you but I have some questions. How are you related to her?” “She was my best friend. What happened her?” “I’m afraid I can’t give that information but we are ruling her death a homicide. When was the last time you seen her alive?” Cassidy couldn’t hold it in any longer. Waterworks.

“I can’t do this right now” she said inbetween sobs. He understood leaving her to grieve alone.

Kane brushed passed unfamiliar faces as he rushed into the hospital in shock. Making it to the front desk out of breathe he mouthed a few words. “Crissy Beckett” The receptionist clicked away at her computer before looking up at him. “Floor three and take this.” She handed him a green sticker before he darted to the elevator. Not sure what to do with the sticker her stuck it on his jacket before hitting three. As the elevator started to go up he prayed that his sister was ok. “What took you so long to get here?” his mother asked stopping herself from pacing the floor. “I didn’t get the message until late...I was working” which he was telling the truth. Kane was never going to tell his parents that he slept with guys for money. His mom gave him a hug. “Where is dad?” “He went to grab us something to eat.” “How long have you guys been here?” “A few hours….we came as soon as we got the call.” “What happened to her? Is she alright?” “The doctors won’t tell us anything. The only thing they told us was that a guy dropped her off.” “What guy!” “They don’t know. He left when they took Crissy from his arms.” “Whoever he is is going to die when I see him!” “Calm down. Violence never helps anything….let’s just sit and wait. Right now we have to be here for Crissy and make sure she’s ok.”

Winston looked down at his phone debating rather or not he should call Erica after the talk they had on the pier. For some time he had been waiting for her to end her marriage and for it to finally be over and here he was in a relationship when it happens. His only problem was that he couldn’t make up his mind on what he wanted to do. Unlike the first time he went chasing after Violet she had made up his mind for him by choosing Wesley. Taking a deep breathe he hit the call button and waited for Erica to pick up. “Hello” “Erica I’m surprised you picked up...can we talk?” “No need Winston it’s ok.” “It’s not ok you were mad when we last talked.” “I know but thanks to you you made it easier to leave Willow Creek and move on.” “Move on?” “I’m leaving Winston...maybe for good. I need a break from all of this drama and men.” “So you’re just going to up and leave without saying goodbye?” She laughed. “You did it to me. Glad you see how it feels.” “When are you leaving?” “Today, as soon as I get everything I need packed.” “I need to see you Erica.” “No, it’s best if we don’t see each other for a while, and don’t you have a girlfriend now.” Being at work prevented him from yelling out in frustration. “Thanks for everything and have a nice life.” Before he could get a word out she hung up the phone leaving him in shock. He had to at least try to see her before she left. Having decided he went to gather his things to leave.

Logan downed his third drink trying to forget everything that happened with Crissy but the liquor made it worse. He didn’t mean to take things as far as they went but he should have known Crissy’s small frame couldn’t handle what he was dishing out. The doorbell rang. He quickly got to his feet and opened the door to see Rick looking annoyed. “I hope you weren’t busy but I need you.” “It was only a short meeting” Rick lied knowing he was about to explore some things with Kane. “Come in.” “What did you do this time?” “Why does it always have to be something that I’ve done?” “Because you only call me when you’ve gotten yourself in trouble...so as I said what have you done?” “A girl, young, and some things got out of hand.” “How young are we talking?” “Eighteen young” “Well at least she was of age.” “What do you think I’m some kind of monster?” “When you want to be...yes” “Anyway we had sex and I pushed her too far and now she’s at the hospital.” “Did you take her?” “Yes.” “Did anyone get your name?” “No I left as soon as I handed her over.” “Talk to anyone else about this other than me?” “No, you were the first person I called.” “Keep it that way. How much damage are we talking?” “Not waking up kind. I hope I didn’t kill her” Logan began put his hands on head in disbelief. “We won’t know anything until she wakes up and if she doesn’t then count your lucky stars.” “What should I do until then?” “Just keep your head down and not talk to anyone. If anyone comes sniffing around then send them my way. Just let them know to get to you they must go through your lawyer i.e me.” “What are you going to do in the meantime?” “Get ready to clean up this mess.” “Thank you Rick.” “No, thank that money you have keeping you a free man.”

Violet rolled over expecting to feel Winston but the cool sheets impacted her hand instead. Slowly she opened her eyes adjusting to the sun lit room. How long was she asleep? Looking over at the clock it read 2:00 pm. It was his fault keeping her up all night rolling around in the sheets but thinking about it made her smile. Walking to the kitchen she saw a note on the counter. - Had to go to work but be ready when I get home - Just those few words alone made her heat up. Lost in dirty thoughts it took her moment to hear someone was at the door. In lala land she went to the door and opened it without seeing who it was first. A hand around her throat brought her back to reality. “You thought you got rid of me that easy?” “Wesley?...” she mouthed through his grip. “Boyfriend home?” Tears started to form in her eyes as he forced back into the house.

Erica go out the car making her last stop at Amber’s house. “Erica!” She turned to see Winston walking towards her. “What are you doing here? Did you follow me?” “I know I couldn’t stop by to say goodbye at your house so I followed you here. I just wanted to see you before you left.” “Why? I thought you told me we were pretty much over the last time we talked. I don’t want to all this back and forth with you anymore.” “Like you were doing when you were married?” “Still am” “Not for long especially since you’re moving to the city.” “What does that mean?” “The city changes people.” “I don’t have time to talk I need to get going. Just came by here to say goodbye to Amber and then I’m on my way.” “I’m sorry we didn’t work out Erica. I still and am in love with you.” “Me too.” “Can I at least get a goodbye hug?” She didn’t feel like fighting him so she caved in and wrapped her arms around him. After a long pause they broke the hug looking at each other. On the verge of a kiss the front door opened. “You ready to go?” Nikko asked interrupting the moment. “Yeah….just saying goodbye to an old friend.” “Who is that?” Winston asked getting jealous. “Amber’s friend he’s going to let me follow him and show me where the new apartment is and my new neighbor.” Winston didn’t like the sound of it at all and wanted to say something but hugged her instead while eyeing Nikko who returned the look.

Kane sat in the waiting room with his parents waiting to hear anything from the doctor but it felt like it had been hours since he arrived. Nothing but bad thoughts ran through his head as he stared off into space. What if his sister was gone? He shook his head of the thought as a doctor came out from the back walking in their direction. Together they stood up bracing themselves for whatever news the doctor was bringing. This was it………

Part 9 : Turmoil

Kane pondered through the rows of liquor not sure what would best suit the evening. Things were finally starting to work towards his favor and he didn’t have to do a thing. With Trevor’s wife leaving him all he had to do was be a shoulder for him to cry on and then Trevor would be his. Which was why the evening with him was so special. The beginning of a lifetime. “We met before...right?” A smooth male voice asked interrupting his thoughts. Kane looked up to a caramel skin toned man with full lips. Kane couldn’t think of where he would have met the handsome stranger. “I think you have the wrong person.” “I approached you at the bar but you turned me down. You looked like you were having an intense conversation with Lola.” Then it hit him. “That was you? I’m sorry If I was rude before but I was sort of going through something.” “I understand. I’m Rick by the way” he held out his hand for him to shake.

“Kane. What was it you trying to talk to me about before?” “You caught my eye so I asked around about you and was told you had a price.” “Does this ask around about me involve you going to Lola for information?” Rick made a face “Yeah” Leave it to Lola to find him some new clients. “Give your number and I will call you later.” The liquor store was not the place to discuss business.” Kane handed him his phone and waited for him to finish putting his number in. With a nervous hand Rick handed him back the phone. “I thought you would turn me down again but I’m glad I tried at least one more time.” Kane gave him a half of smile. “Nice to meet you Rick. I have to get going though.” “Me too, I’m looking forward to your call.” Kane felt heat all over as he walked away. It had been awhile since he was nervous around a guy.

Violet couldn’t help but smile as Winston held her hand. He was leading her inside of a new spot just outside of town for their first official date. “Where are you taking me?” “I thought we do something different for our first date then the traditional eating out.” When they got inside Violet looked around to see a colorful hookah bar. “You brought me to a hookah bar?” “I figure we can have a few drinks and smoke a little to relax and talk. If you want we can still go somewhere to eat.” “No, this is perfect. How did you find this place?” “One of my clients told me about it after our training session and I thought it be fun.” “Well I have to say thank you to whoever he or she is.” “You want to get a drink first?” “Sure.”

“I thought you were the one to break up Trevor?” Amber asked annoyed at Erica. “I was, but it still hurts. You can’t just forget someone that you’ve been with for years.” Amber sat next to her on the couch. “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean you mope around in the meantime. You’ve been sitting on this couch so long you’re starting to become apart of it and...you stink.” Erica sniffed under her arm. “I don’t stink.” “You don’t stink, but can you look decent for one night? I have a friend coming over and I don’t want him to see the sad lump of my best friend on the couch.” “Man or woman?” Erica asked peering her eyes at her. “Man.” “No! Amber this better not be one of your lame attempts at setting me up. I told you I was going to take a break from men?” “You must think I don’t have a life outside of you. He is another one of my best friends and he is in town from the city. He just asked me if he could stop by and I said yes.” Erica started to pout. “No...that’s not going to work on me. If you don’t want to be seen just stay in the room.” But an Idea popped in Erica’s head that would be better. Hopefully Winston was free.

After finding the office coffee pot and pouring him some Jax went to find his desk. Hopefully moving into town and working as a detective would pay off in the long run for his sister. He just wanted to find her and lay her to rest and then he could have some kind of peace, but until then he would work tirelessly.

It wasn’t long before he loaded up the computer that an officer walk by giving him his first case. Ready to get to work he opened the folder to immediately feel sick to his stomach. A picture of Bri’s lifeless body was front and center. A anger like no other boiled underneath his skin making him red. He knew Neal had something to do with this and needed to stop him before he striked again.

Winston and Violet had just sat down ready to smoke when he received a text from Erica asking him to meet her and that it was important. His feelings for her wouldn’t let him ignore her and he agreed. “Violet….I hate to do this but can I go take of a friend and come right back. He say’s it’s an emergency. I will tell him no if you have a problem with it.” “If it’s an emergency then go. I will be fine here until you get back, but you have to promise me that you will drink just as many drinks that I will have waiting for you” she gave a soft laugh. “I promise and I won’t be long. I just like to take care of my friends and family.” “I know. That’s what I like about you.”

Before Kane could knock on the door Trevor already opened it waiting for his arrival. “You must have heard me coming.” “It took you long enough. I just need something to get my mind off of Erica.” “Well I have come bearing the break up kit.” Kane followed Trevor into the kitchen sitting the bags down on the counter. “I brought some drink, snacks, and these” Kane reached in his pocket and pulled out a little baggie with pills inside. “We can take those after we eat.” Looking around Kane didn’t see anything prepared. “Eat what?” “ I ordered some pizza. I’d like to be in my right mind while I pay for the food.” “How long is it going to take?” “He said no more than forty-five minutes.” Trevor went into the cabinets to pull out two wine glasses. “I know the perfect thing to do while we wait.” Kane walked over to him starting to undo his pants.

Erica stood by the pier looking out at the water in deep thought waiting for Winston. So much for her plan of keeping away from men. “What is this about Erica? You look fine to me” he said trying to hide the annoyance in his voice. She turned to face him with tears in her eyes. His wall instantly crumbled. Rushing over to her he took her into his arms concerned. “What’s wrong?” “It’s over Winston.” “What’s over?” “Me and Trevor. I found out on Halloween that he cheated on me with Cassidy.” “My ex Cassidy?” “Yeah, I ran into her at the convention center and she said she saw me with Trevor and didn’t know we were together. Next thing I know I’m looking at graphic photo’s of him and her.” He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “This is my fault.”

“How is this your fault?” “I told her that I did not want to see her anymore because I was in love with you. If she can fake a pregnancy to keep me around I’m sure she slept with Trevor just to spite you.” Erica was speechless. “I don’t what to say. Honestly I’m sad about the whole thing but at the same time...this just showed me how unhappy I was. And the guilt of us sleeping together was starting to become to much.” “Why couldn’t you have come to this conclusion earlier? I was waiting for you E” “What does that mean? You met someone else?” “Someone from my past before I met you showed up in town and now we are seeing where things take us.” She backed away from him. “I thought you loved me?” “I do, but I thought you would never leave him and realize I was suppose to be where you belonged.” “Well not long enough. I’m sorry I asked you here then. Go back to her and I promise not to bother you anymore.” She walked off holding her head down wounded. “Erica!....Erica!!!”

Violet hit the ignore button for the thousandth time from Logan trying to get in contact with her. For the past few days he had been calling her non-stop and leaving voicemails and texts saying how sorry he was. Not trying to spoil her evening she turned her cell off and put in her purse. A woman Violet didn’t notice as she passed stopped to turn around to talk to her “You look familiar. I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before.” “No..” Violet looked at her name tag “Skylar we have never met.” “I saw you at the park with Logan. I was the one who warned you about him. You still seeing him?” Violet was taken back at how forward she was. Even though it was none of her business she did recall that day in the park. “Who are you again?” “Well you know from my name tag I’m Skylar, but me and Logan use to date. I’m surprised I survived.” “What does that mean?”

“It means….Logan is crazy and will do anything to get what he wants. Luckily for me he lost interest and found someone else to stalk.” Violet couldn’t deal with the information she was pouring on her. “Stalk?” “He belongs in the looney bin but he has money so that’s a ticket for him to do what he wants when he wants.” “I can’t take you talking in riddles right now. What did he do?” “I tried to break it off with him and he kept me locked in his house for a week doing…..things..” she trailed off not wanting to finish. “Like what?” She took a napkin and scribbled her number on it. “Just stay away from him and call me if you need any help or a witness.” And just like she walked off leaving Violet confused and scared. What if he was watching her now?

Erica walked in Amber’s house slamming the door behind her forgetting she had company. “Erica!” Amber called following her into the kitchen. “What’s going on?” “Winston! He is dating someone else! I went from two men to nothing! I thought Winston loved me and then he tells me he’s dating someone from past that he met before me.” “Calm down! I thought you said you were taking a break from men anyway.” “That’s not helping. I said I wanted to take a break not have any options at all. I don’t even know where to start to be single. I mean to start over after spending so much time with someone. Amber what am I going to do?”

“I promise you it will be ok. You thought the same thing when Winston ran off to god knows where and you met Trevor. I’m sure you will meet someone else in time.” Erica paced the floor back and forth not sure what to do. “It sounds like I should get going” Niko said walking into the kitchen. “No, Niko please stay...I hardly get to see you since you moved to the city.” Nikko took a seat at the island with Amber following. That was it. The one that she should have done in the beginning before all of this went down. Move. “You said you live in the city?” Erica asked taking a seat with them. “Yeah, San Myshuno...why?” “Yeah, why?” Amber added in. “I’m moving there. I need to get away from everyone and as soon as possible.” “Are you crazy?” “I actually have an apartment right across from me that’s empty if you want to look at it.” “Niko! Don’t encourage her!” Amber groaned. “She’s a big girl and it sounds like she could use a new environment, besides she will have me to look out for her.” “That’s what I’m afraid of. I can’t have both of my best friends live miles away from me. What am I going to do?” “I love you Amber but I need this, and it will give you an excuse to come and visit. Plus you always have Micah near by.” “If she doesn’t have a boyfriend and she’s always dating someone….but I guess. Just make sure you don’t forget about me ok.” “I’m not leaving yet. I still need to look at the place and pack my things. I might not even get the place.” “I can talk to my landlord.” Amber cut her eyes at him.

Logan tried to call Violet one last time for the night but it went straight to voicemail. Calmly unlike last time he placed his phone down and walked over to his bed to make sure everything was ready. Pulling at the restraints one last time to make sure everything was secure. If he could get his hands on Violet he was going to do it to someone else and it was her fault. Violet was the reason that someone else was going to suffer for every bit of his anger. All she had to do was answer the phone and everything would be ok. The doorbell rang and he quickly went down the stairs to open the door. Just beyond the threshold stood Crissy barely able to contain her excitement from him inviting her over. He smiled. “Glad you can make it.” He stepped aside letting Crissy walk in……..
