Violet began to back up as he approached her. Yanking her arm he began to pull her towards the door. “You’re hurting me!” she yelled. Winston got to his feet to intrude. “Woah! Wes what the fuck are you doing?!” Winston pushed his brother away from Vi. Wes grew angry. “Stay out of this! This is between me and her.” Violet tried to make a run for the door but Wes caught up to her smacking her hard across the face. The impact knocked her to the floor. Winston delivered a punch to Wesley’s side knocking him down before they began full on fighting.
Neal sat on the kitchen floor crying as he held Bri’s lifeless body. Slowly he rocked her back and forth shocked that his wife and child were gone. All because he didn’t want to be outed to the world and his family. He looked down at her beautiful face knowing that he would never know peace again. That this very moment would haunt him forever. Laying her head gently on the floor he got to his feet in deep thought. Somehow he had to figure out what to do with the body.
Erica rushed in the house racing for the bathroom to throw up. She had been fine all day until she reached the house. Did she eat something bad? After a few dry heaves she flushed the toilet weak. Sitting next to the toilet she tried to calm herself. Throwing up was the worse. She thought of everything she had to eat but came up blank as to what would have made her sick. Thinking about last time she was on her period made her worry. It had been a while. Pulling her phone out her jacket pocket she pulled up the calendar and realized she was late. Her heart sank. If she was pregnant then it could be either Winston’s or Trevor’s.
Lola’s was always a place Kane could go and relax when he needed to think. Right now the topic was Trevor. “What’s on your mind tonight doll face?” Lola asked. Kane took the last swig of his drink before responding. “Man trouble as always.” She poured him another drink. “Trevor still won’t cave in huh?” “I forgot I told you about that. I just don’t know what to do to make him mines. I have now graduated to blackmail.” She made a face in response. “I know. I have nothing left.” “You ever thought about just letting things happen naturally. I know he is the only guy you love but you can’t force someone to love you back and if he is crazy enough not to realize the man you are then I’m you will find love again.” “He told me that he was never leaving his wife.” “Then let the man be Kane. You can do better than that.” “Thanks for the advice Lo but I rather sit here and drink alone.” “You know where I am if you need to talk.” As she walked away he was joined by someone else.
“Seat taken?” “Nope. I will be leaving after this drink.” “I thought I might get a chance to talk to you for a bit.” The guy sat next to him getting Kane’s attention. “For what?” “ I just would like to know you is all. Vince” “Nice to meet you. You should leave before the night crowd starts coming in.” “That’s the part I enjoy but I like to have a few drinks beforehand.” “I hate to be short with you but I’m not in the best of moods right now for small talk so whatever you want just ask.” “Straight to the point then. I see you in here all the time and I got word that you do things for money. Stuff I like to try.” “I don’t do whatever it is you’re implying.” “But someone told me-” “Don’t believe everything you hear, besides you have cop written all over you.” Kane drank the last of his drink and left.
Cassidy stood outside of Lola’s waiting for Bri to show up. Rubbing her hands together to warm them from the cool air. Trevor walked up to greet her. “Thanks for inviting me out tonight I needed this.” They hugged. “No problem I figure since we are both going through something it would be a nice change of scenery.” “Are you ready to go inside? It’s kind of cold out here.” Cassidy dialed Bri’s number for the umteenth time but only got her voicemail. Maybe she was running late. “I was waiting for my friend but I guess she will join us later. Ready for a drink?”
Winston joined Violet on the porch handing her an ice pack for her face. Taking a seat next to he looked out at the vast sky and sighed. “I’m sorry I put you through this. I shouldn’t have came here. I knew he would come looking for me but I didn’t think so soon.” “When you first got here you should have told me the truth as to why you left. How long has he been beating you?” “For most of our relationship. He started off so sweet at first and then one day I left a dish in the sink and the next thing I know is I have a black eye. I was ashamed to tell you.” “You should have called me sooner. He could have killed you.” “That’s why I left like I did. I couldn’t take it anymore. At first when he use to hit me it was every so often and then it turned into every little thing I did. Hell I looked at him wrong and he was beating me.”
“Our dad use to beat on our mom.” She was shocked. “Guess my dad rubbed off on him more than I thought.” “What happened with your dad? Is she still with him?” “No, but it took him beating her within an inch of her life for her to realize it wasn’t ok.” “I’m sorry to hear that.” “My mom is happily remarried to a nice guy...honestly I wish he was my father.” Violet leaned into him resting her head on his shoulder as he talked. “If I get mad enough I can feel the anger my dad use to unleash on my mom. I fear I could turn into him but I try my best not to.” “You could never hurt anyone Winston...you have a good heart. If I would have seen that to begin with we would be together right now...happy. Maybe even married but I missed my opportunity. The woman you love is very lucky.” They made eye contact. It felt good to hear that coming from her. “Vi don’t let anyone ever hurt you like that again. I’m here for you if you need me...always.” He moved a strand of hair out of her face while looking into her eyes. Violet moved into kiss him and he didn’t stop her.
With Trevor away at work it gave Erica time to go to the store and buy a pregnancy test. For the longest time she stood in the bathroom staring down at the pink box afraid to take it. If the test was positive then she wouldn’t know who the father would be. To be honest either way it went she would happy but deep down in her gut she had hoped that it was Winston’s.
With a deep breath she opened the box and ripped opened the packet. After peeing on the stick she placed the cap back on the end and sat the test down next to her on the counter. After a minute the test window revealed her results. With a stoic face tears began to pool in her eyes.
Later on that night
After one too many drinks Trevor and Cassidy caught a cab back to her place. Little did Trevor know that she wasn’t as drunk as he was. She needed to be a little sober for this next part. With Trevor’s arm slumped around her shoulder she walked with to the door helping him inside. In his drunken stupor he walked over to the couch and plopped down. “I had a fun night tonight. Thanks again for inviting me out.” She quickly removed her pants behind him. “I had fun too...I wish you could have met my friend I think she would have loved you.” “Me too” he rested his head back closing his eyes. Feeling a tug at his zipper he looked up to see Cassidy fully naked. “What are you doing? You know I’m married right.” “What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her. We can have even more fun.” She got his fly open and took all of him into her mouth. His body reacted immediately with all his blood rushing to the source of the pleasure. To drunk to fight he rested his head back again and enjoyed the service she was providing.
Neal found a spot to put Bri where no one would think to look. The waterworks started up again as he knew this was the last time he was going to see her. He gave her one last kiss on her cold stiff lips before moving down and kissing her baby bump. His child that he would never meet by his hands hurt him deeply. Standing to his feet he gave her one last look and walked away to leave her there to rot……
